Elanders in Germany

Elanders GmbH is a high profile printing plant in the heart of the German car industry. The company started its business in Leutenback outside Stuttgart and after a few years it moved to its current headquarters at Anton-Schmidt-Strasse in Waiblingen.
Parts of the business have been outsourced to other addresses, but after the latest expansion which included some 4,000 additional square metres, the core business is primarily run from the main office building.
The machine park is state-of-the-art, with several production lines for sheet-fed offset and digital printing. Important customers include car manufacturers like Daimler, Porsche and Audi, pharmaceuticals like Gehe and Ratiopharm, advertising agency BBDO and Postbank, EnBW, Ritter Sport and the clothes brand Marc Cain.
Elanders GmbH is an innovative leader in several ways. The potential of digital printing is just beginning to be researched and is one of the areas which has expanded heavily during recent times. Web-to-print solutions represent one example of the possibility to offer unique products in the form of, for example, photo-books and personalised calendars. Customers’ interest for this type of product is growing rapidly. The company is keeping itself up-to-date with this segment, and sees many possibilities to develop new, exciting products. One example is customised car brochures, a service which Smart uses. The customer chooses the model, colour, design and extra features and after a few days they get a unique, personal brochure in the post.
Another service which will become increasingly important over the next years is customised send-outs, where personalisation doesn’t just involve the recipient's name and address.
